Thomas Belknap, MD

Spectrum Neurosurgical Specialists

Dr. Belknap earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY, before going on to complete his residency and internship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Dr. Belknap is trained to perform some of most advanced brain and spine procedures including minimally invasive spine surgery.  Other conditions treated by Dr. Belknap include: Brain, Spinal, and Peripheral Nerve Tumors; Spine Trauma and Traumatic Brain Injury; Degenerative and Acquired Spinal Conditions; CSF Shunts; Stereotactic Radiosurgery; and Trigeminal Neuralgia Peripheral Nerve Decompression (i.e., Carpal Tunnel and Ulnar Nerve)

  

Herschel Beker, MD

Resurgens Orthopaedic

A former Chief of Staff at North Fulton Hospital, Dr. Beker is one of the original members of Resurgens Orthopaedic and a long standing member of the hospital’s medical staff.    Dr. Beker completed his training at Emory School of Medicine and its affiliated Hospitals.  His area of expertise includes adult disorders of the Spine, Spine Surgery and Kyphoplasty. 

 

Bart MacDonald, MD

A native of Georgia and graduate of Georgia Tech, Dr. Bart MacDonald attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his internship at the University of Florida.  During his neurosurgical residency, Dr. MacDonald trained at Harvard’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Boston when he had the opportunity to train with the leaders in the fields of Neurovascular surgery and Neuro-oncology. He then completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch.  

Dr. MacDonald focuses on minimally invasive surgeries and conservative spine treatments so that the patient can expect to have the highest level of technology balanced with the highest level of concern for his or her well-being.  This includes using microsurgical, minimally invasive, and percutaneous techniques to spinal surgery including stereotactic and robotic spine surgery. In the end, his goal is to walk with the patient and the patient’s family through a very trying and difficult time with compassion combined technical expertise.  

 

Daniel W. Moore, MD

Craniospinal Institute of Georgia 

Dr. Dan Moore obtained his Bachelors and M.D. degrees from Brown University in Providence, RI. His neurosurgical training was achieved at the Ohio State University Hospitals. Dr. Moore is a board certified neurosurgeon, with specialties in spine, brain and peripheral nerve care.  With 27 years of experience, he performs a wide variety of procedures, and has particular interest in assisting patients with back pain, spinal pain, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, brain tumors, brain trauma, shunt placement, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Peripheral Nerve Disorder.

 

Jason Velez, DO

Dr. Velez attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his residency at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey followed by a fellowship in Spine Surgery at the OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte, ND.   Dr. Velez performs a wide variety of advanced spine procedures including:  Complex Reconstructive Spine Surgery, Cervical Spine Surgery
Kyphoplasty, and Artificial Disc Replacement

  

Charles Weaver Jr., MD, PhD

Dr. Weaver earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He has been in practice since 2005.
