NFH Offers FREE Sports Physicals to Students on April 30
For those students in need of a sports physical in order to be cleared for participation in a school activity, North Fulton Hospital has a simple and FREE solution this month. On April 30th starting at 8 am at the Roswell hospital, students can come for a free physical with a variety of North Fulton and Resurgens Orthopedics physicians.
From football to lacrosse, to cheerleading and marching band, many of our community students are required to be cleared by physicians so that they may participate in their chosen activity. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure their safety while at school.
On Saturday morning, April 30th, students will see several physician specialties, including an ophthalmologist to check their vision, orthopedists to check their mobility and musculature, and primary care physicians to perform the physical exam. North Fulton Hospital nurses will also be on site, checking height, weight, and blood pressure.
North Fulton Hospital began this offering in 2010, providing physicals for over 200 local students from north Fulton and surrounding areas. The feedback the parents provided at the event revealed that this event should be annual. “As a nurse and a mother of three athletes, I know the importance of these physicals,” said Cindy Hardy, Physician Liaison at North Fulton Hospital and Milton High School parent. “Like all parents, I want my children to have fun doing what they love, but I want them to stay safe doing it.”
So the hospital has responded, deciding to make this an annual event. For more information about the free sports physicals, please call 770.751.2660. No appointment is necessary.
