NFRH Addresses Issues of Caregiver Relief with Community Program

Caring for others, while rewarding, can sometimes result in feelings of exhaustion and frustration.  Many times, caregivers are left with a difficult question: How can I deal with my feelings when I need to be so focused on those of my patient or loved one?

North Fulton Regional Hospital is pleased to present Caregiver Relief on Tuesday, June 16th, at 6:30 p.m. as an option for those who spend their time caring for others, whether professionally or through personally responsibility.  This informative program will address this issue of burnout as well as many others.

Held in conjunction with PBA 30 (Atlanta’s Public Broadcasting Station) and VITAS Innovative Hospice, Caregiver Relief will open with a DVD touching on the topic of burnout for the caregiver.  Following the program, a panel of experts ranging from various disciplines and backgrounds will field questions from the audience.  The panel of experts will include:

  • Leena Dutta, MD, North Fulton Regional Hospital Hospitalist
  • Ranjan Paul, MD, Internal Medicine Physician
  • Ruth Sarmiento, MD, Medical Director, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care
  • Fred Whitehurst, Bereavement Manager/Community Liaison, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care
  • Kamela Sooknanan, Director of Case Management, North Fulton Regional Hospital

WABE FM Science Reporter Jim Burress will moderate the event.  Ask questions of our panel of experts, and go home with a new outlook on how to care not only for your loved one but also for yourself.

The event is FREE but registration is required.  For more information and to register, please call 770-751-2660 or visit www.northfultonregional.com.
