It’s hot outside and you and your families are having daydreams of lazy days spent at the pool. While you take some time for yourself, take time to give to someone else in a big way…give life. North Fulton Regional Hospital urges you to register to give blood at the community blood drive for the American Red Cross. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, July 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

As of today, inventories of blood are at a shocking low. According to Dionna Walker, Donor Recruitment Representative for the Southern Region of American Red Cross, the levels are as follows:
 O Positive Red Cells are at a .4 day supply (less than 10 hours)
 A Positive Red Cells are at a 1.87 day supply (less than 48 hours)
 B Positive Red Cells are at a 1.85 day supply (less than 48 hours)
 O Negative Red Cells are at a .56 day supply (only 14 hours)
 A Negative Red Cells are at a .61 day supply (only 14 hours)
 B Negative Red Cells are at a .63 day supply (only 15 hours)

From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., the American Red Cross will be located in the classrooms of North Fulton Regional Hospital, just inside the main entrance. To reach this location, donors may take the Hospital Boulevard driveway to the hospital and park in the parking deck. The classrooms are located on the left inside the lobby of the main entrance. To register to give blood, please call 770-751-2869.
