Visiting Hours

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit.

Visiting hours can differ depending on the unit.  In our critical care areas, limited visiting hours are in place due to the medical condition of the patients.   The visiting hours for this unit are:

  • 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • 8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

For visiting hours for any of the other departments, please contact the case manager or call the hospital at 770-751-2500.

We do ask that you make note of the following visiting guidelines:

"North Fulton Hospital is a tobacco free campus.  Visitors may not smoke anywhere on the hospital campus.

"We would ask that visitors of the patients in semi-private rooms be considerate of both patients.

"Visitors with colds, sore throats, or any contagious illness should not visit patients.

"We would ask that a quiet environment be kept when visiting.

"Visitors may be asked to leave a room during tests or treatments or when a nurse or physician needs to see the patient.

"Visitors are asked to park in the parking garage across from the main entrance.

Condition Reports

Any personal information regarding your diagnosis or treatment must come from your physician. This information is considered confidential and is only available to members of your immediate family or others you designate to receive it. Please notify your physician who you select as your designated appointee and encourage family and friends to ask this person for updates on your condition and care.

Gifts for Patients

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts, food or drink to patients. In the Intensive Care Units please check with the nursing staff before bringing in gifts.

Gift Shop

The Mimosa Gift Shop is located in the Main Lobby, close to the main entrance. The shop is staffed by volunteers and is open from 9:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Some additional hours and weekends may be available.

Waiting Areas

There are specifically designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the atrium. Specific waiting areas have been designated for Surgical Waiting, Critical Care Areas, and the Emergency Department. We ask that you refrain from eating and drinking in these areas and would be happy to assist you in locating the dining area or gazebo. During certain hours, a member of our Volunteer Department is on duty in the Surgery Waiting and Critical Care Areas Waiting to keep family members informed of the progress of surgery or of your loved one's conditions.

Chapel

The chapel is located on the main floor in the lobby area across from the welcome desk. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and quiet meditation. If you need assistance in entering the chapel, please contact Security at extension #2911 and they will be happy to assist you.
