North Fulton Regional Hospital Honors Staff for Excellence and Service
Joanna Stotter

Kamela Sooknanan

Each year North Fulton Regional Hospital takes a night to recognize those employees who have reached milestones in their careers at the facility.  Whether these are service year milestones or awards for excellence in care and dedication, these recognitions serve as a tool to showcase the very best that the hospital has to offer: its people.

In addition to the awards presented to those with 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service to the hospital, administrators presented employees with the following recognitions: President’s Award, Hero Awards, Employee of the Year-Nursing, and Employee of the Year-Non Nursing.  The recipients of these distinguished hospital honors have made a significant impact on the hospital and those around them, and North Fulton Regional Hospital is proud to have each of them on the team.

President’s Award: Kamela Sooknanan

Quality Service Line Administrator Kamela Sooknanan was chosen to receive the 2009 President’s Award, an award presented to one leader who has made considerate contributions in regard to the leadership of North Fulton Regional Hospital.  Known for being a hands-on, innovative manager, Sooknanan never lets an employee’s accomplishments and hard work go unrecognized.  Her leadership and skill has been a primary driving force behind North Fulton Regional Hospital’s many quality accomplishments.  Recently, Sooknanan was invited to give a presentation at the American Case Management Association’s annual meeting and was also asked to join a corporate Tenet team to assist in creating a model for the ideal Case Management Department.  Her staff respect her “get it done right” attitude, and the hospital as a whole is thankful to have such a devoted member of the team.

Susan Hill

Hero Awards: Susan Hill and Sarah Rucker

Each year, North Fulton Regional Hospital recognizes two employees for the Hero Awards, one in the “caregiver” category and the other in the “non-caregiver” category.  These employees exemplify the very best of Tenet and North Fulton Regional Hospital.

Selected for the Caregiver category is Respiratory Therapist Susan Hill.  Hill has been a dedicated employee of the hospital for 20 years.   While she is known for her knowledge and skill as a medical professional, Hill is the recipient of this award as a direct result of a specific patient interaction.  Her attention and care given to a patient in critical condition demonstrated her abilities as a truly exceptional Respiratory therapist.  Today, this patient credits hill with giving him the will to survive.

Sarah Rucker

Selected for the Non-Caregiver category is Sarah Rucker of the Communications Department.  Another 20-year employee, Rucker touches the lives of hundreds of people every month via the hospital switchboard.  She is well-known for her kind heart an caring spirit, which she demonstrated when she herself took a patient’s family member to the store to purchase a change of clothes after visiting for several days.  Rucker serves as a role model for her peers at North Fulton Regional Hospital

Ethan Bridges

Employees of the Year, Caregiver: Ethan Bridges

A highly respected caregiver among patients, his department team members, and the hospital in general, Occupational Therapist Ethan Bridges is a team player who makes the work environment fun.  He is known for going out of his way to help not only patients but also anyone around him who might need a hand.  Ethan spends much of his time working with the Joint Replacement Program.  Patients in this program need assistance in growing accustomed to their new joints, and occupational therapy is a major aspect of their recovery.  Ethan’s work in this area has helped many of these patients achieve a new quality of life, which is something that he seems to do with ease.  Truly a class act, Ethan is a valued member of the North Fulton Regional Hospital team.

Amberlee Moore

Employee of the year, Professional: Amberlee Moore

Described as the “ultimate professional,” Administrative Assistant Amberlee Moore is North Fulton Regional Hospital’s Employee of the Year for the Professional category.  Amberlee seems to tackle most every issue with ease, as no job is too big or too much trouble for her.  With a smile on her face, she happily goes the extra mile in all she does, whether it be organizing charity drives or a committee meeting.  North Fulton Regional Hospital is lucky to have such an intelligent and caring individual ready to step up to the plate.
