Employees at North Fulton Hospital stepped up to the plate—or the oven—once again with a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale, surpassing the previous bake sale record for earnings. At the end of the day, the hospital accumulated $1,600 to benefit North Fulton Community Charities.
In October of 2009, the hospital reached $1,500 in one bake sale, which was the most it had ever earned from that activity at the time.
“Every time we do this we surprise ourselves,” explains Jeannette Wetty, NFH employee and one of the organizers of the sale. “It seems to get better and better each time, and because people know where the proceeds are going, they are willing to pay more per item. It’s really growing and now includes the Regional Business Office as willing buyers of our special goodies.”
The hospital hosted its first bake sale in 2006, earning approximately $600 in that endeavor. Since then, as more employees and volunteers learn about the activity, more people are stepping up to bake and more are coming out of their offices and off their units to buy.
